Sitamun was a princess during the 18th Dynasty. Some records indicate that Queen Tiy urged Amenhotep to accept Sitamun as a consort. Tiy probably wanted to ensure the birth of other royal heirs. Sitamun is believed by some to be the mother of Smenkhkare and Tutankhamun. She was buried at Thebes.
