August Karl Eduard Kiss
Born in : Prusse - 1802 / Dead in : Berlin, 1865
August Karl Eduard Kiss was a German sculptor. He studied at the Berlin Academy under Christian Rauch, Tieck and Schinkel. His work was mostly executed in the Neo-Classical style and consisted largely of portraits and mythological and allegorical subjects.

Biography   
In 1889 the Fairmont Park Art Association obtained a plaster of one of Kiss' best known works, The Amazon and in 1929 the work was cast in bronze and now stands in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
