The Nile River Cruises are available all year round, but in mid April, locks on the Nile are shut because of water levels. The best time to go on a cruise on the Nile is October to March when all the locks are open and the weather is nice and cool.

This is a standard program for a Nile River Cruise :
Day 1: Luxor
Visit Karnak and Luxor Temples.
Overnight at Luxor.
Day 2: Luxor / Esna
Cross the West Bank to visit Thebes Necropolis, Valley of the Kings, El Deir El Bahari of Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon facing the Nile.
Sailing to Esna.
Overnight at Esna.
Day 3: Esna / Edfu / Kom Ombo / Aswan
Sailing to Edfu, Visit the Temple of Horus.
Sailing to Kom Ombo.
Visit the Temple shared by the two Gods, Sobek & Haroeris.
Sailing to Aswan.
Overnight at Aswan.
Day 4: Aswan
Visit the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae.
Overnight at Aswan.
