The three heads are fragments of four Osiside figures of Hatshepsut that stood 11 feet high within the sanctuary of Amun in her funerary temple at Deir el Bahri. This one and the third one wear the White Crown of Upper Egypt and come from the two southern niches of the sanctuary. Like all the architectural limestone sculptures in the precinct, the sanctuary Osirides were brilliantly painted, but they are distinguished by the unsual light pink pigment used for their flesh tone.
