 | Description | |
The three heads are fragments of four Osiside figures of Hatshepsut that stood 11 feet high within the sanctuary of Amun in her funerary temple at Deir el Bahri. This one wears the Double Crown and originally adorned one in the nothern niches of the sanctuary. Like all the architectural limestone sculptures in the precinct, the sanctuary Osirides were brilliantly painted, but they are distinguished by the unsual light pink pigment used for their flesh tone.
