Description

This disdainful face once belonged to a composite statue. It seems to have worn the female tripartite wig, which frames the face with two thick lappets while a third section hangs down the back. This wig and the very close similarity of the face to known images of the Queen Tiye, wife of Amenhotep III and mother of Akhenaten, make it virtually certain that she is represented here.
