Description

Fired clay, polished ocher slip, blue red and black pigments. Probably from Amarna. This jar may have held wine or beer to be served at the banquet. An elaborate polychrome floral decoration was painted on the shoulder and neck. The zizzag line, derived from the hieroglyph for water, was added to underline the presence of the cool drink inside.
