 | Description | |
The ceiling fragments depict pigeons (right) and ducks (left) rising in flight and framed by a rosette border. They were uncovered in an area of the palace identified as the women's quarters. Although all of the birds are in the same pose, the artist have created a feeling of tumultuous movement by overlapping the wings and varying the orientations. In the scene with ducks, a small nest may be seen in the lower right corner above the border.
