 | Description | |
This fragment face was part from a composite statue whose face, hands and other exposed areas of skin were made of red jasper. It has been dated to the reign of Thuthmosis IV on stylistic grounds. The fragments have been brought together from several sources. The eye is on loan from the Louvre Museum in Paris. Part of the cheek and mouth were acquired by exchange from the Petrie Museum in London. The others portions have long been in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
