Description   

The heart, that the Egyptian considered the home of the spirit, was left in the body and was protected by an amulet made of green stone, usally in the shape of a scarab beetle. These heart scarabs were inscribed with a text intended to prevent the heart from bearing witness against the spirit during the jugment in the afterlife. This scarab is inscribed on the base with Chapter 30b of the Book of the Dead.
