Description

The heart, that the Egyptian considered the home of the spirit, was left in the body and was protected by an amulet made of green stone, usally in the shape of a scarab beetle. These heart scarabs were inscribed with a text intended to prevent the heart from bearing witness against the spirit during the jugment in the afterlife. Menhet's heart sacarab is actually in the shape of an heart rather than a beetle.
