 | Description | |
Chalice with Saint John the Baptist, a saint (probably Saint Stephen) with censer, a youthful saint, the Virgin Mary in orant, a saint in armor killing the dragon (Saint Georges) and a long-haired Saint John the Baptist, under arcades. The generous size of this chalice is evidence of the large number of Christians residing around Attarouthi prior to the rise of Islam.
Inscribed in Greek : “Of Saint Stephen of the village of Attaroutha”.
