Description

Chains, called riazni, were created from numbers of small cloisonné enamel medallions with decorations similar to those of temple pendants. The chains may have been used to suspend the pendants from women's headdress; or they may have joined layers of dress or been worn as necklaces or bracelets.

The chains were founded in 1842 in or near Desiatynna (Dormition) Church of Kiev.
