 | Description | |
From the 200s, goldsmiths made elegant jewelry decorated by a technique called opus interrasile. The patterns were formed by piercing the sheet of gold to encourage the play of light and shadow.
This bracelet was part of a hoard of fourteen pieces of jewellery found in Sicily in 1903 : the Pantalica Treasure.
