 | Description | |
Characterized by a deep bowl ant troughlike spout, the sauceboat may have originated in the Cyclades, but was commonplace throughout the Aegean world during the Early bronze age. The shape is best represented in terracotta. Only two examples in gold are known, this one and a close counterpart in the Musée du Louvre, Paris.
