 | Description | |
This exceptionally well-preserved, lidded jug with a strainer at the spout is of a rare type. It relates to the Archaic bronze oinochoe (wine jugs) of the so-called Rhodian class that were produced among the first Greek bronze vessels to be mass produced and exported around the Mediterranean region. It also has affinities with Anatolian metal vessels of the Phrygian and Lydian cultures.
