The date of this exceptional statuette, found in a mastaba (enclosure of Imhotep), has been under discussion, attribution ranking from the reign of Senwosret I to Dynasty 13. Recent studies have shown that the statuette was deposited in its hidden chamber 30 to 40 years after the death of Senwosret I, during the reigns of Amenemhat II or, at the latest, Senwosret II.
