 | Description | |
In the autumn of 1866, Cézanne lived at his family's home, the Jas de Boffan, near the town of Aix-en-Provence. There he undertook several portraits of his mother's younger brother Dominique Aubert in different costumes, each completed in an afternoon. As they were executed quickly and with thick paints, these pictures have all developed cracks.
