Certains spécialistes rattachent ce tableau à Tommasso Salini ou Bernardo Strozzi. L'attribution plusieurs fois proposée à Simone del Tintore ne semble pas devoir être retenue, puisqu'il s'agit d'un tableau peint au cours du premier tiers du XVIIème siècle.
