Description

This painting, an unfinished repetition of the celebrated Grand Odalisque on 1814 in the Louvre, appears on a list made by Ingres of works he painted between 1824 and 1834. The quality of execution is not as fine as the version in Paris, but there is not reason to question its attribution to Ingres. Nevertheless, he may have relied on collaboration form his assistants according to his usual practice.
