Description   

Since this throne was use on the eve of religious feast days it is also known as the Arife Throne. This outstanding example of Ottoman mother-of-pearl inlay was made by Sedefkâr Mehmed Aga, a master craftsman of inlay and architect. As chief palace architect, he designed Sultan Ahmed Mosque (the Blue Mosque).
