Bow cases and quivers were among the symbols of sovereignty and carried by the sultan's chief armourer. These are made of velvet decorated with gold plaques set with emeralds, rubies and diamonds. They were intended as a gift to the Iranien ruler Nadir Shah by Mahmud I, but he died before they could be delivered.
