Description   

The lamp in inscribed with the name of Nasireddin Hasan (1347/1361). During the 14th and the 15th centuries, the Egyptian Mamluks frequently sent valuable gifts and letters of congratulation to the Ottomans following victories, particulary against Christians. This lamp was orriginaly in the tomb of the secon Ottoman Sultan Orhan Gazi (1326/1362) in Bursa, and later brought back to the palace in Istanbul.
