 | Description | |
This fragment, similar to the Rosetta Stone, commemorates the visit of Ptolemy IX and Cleopatra III to the cataract region, and records the privileges granted by the king to priests of the temple of Khnum. The main text is entirely in Geek, while the scene is in the Egyptian style showing the dieties of the cataract region, with hieroglyhic captions. The stone was later carved down for reuse apparently as a building block.
