 | Description | |
In keeping with traditional Japanese garden design, this garden is conceived around a large central pond and contains stones in variety of shapes, sizes and colors. In the center of the pond are three islands : Horai jima (Island of Eternal Happiness), Tsurujima (Crane Island), and Kame jima (Turtle Island). The design of the garden is attributed to the reknown tea master and landscape architect Kobori Enshu (1579 1647).
