Description   

The Abbot's Quarters (Hôjô) at Shôkoku-ji is a large building facing south, which is surrounded by a small ditch. Located to the north of the Dharma Hall (Hattô), the building is adjacent to the Kitchen and Living Quarters (Kuri). The Abbot's Quarters was rebuilt in 1807 . Hôjô is built on a particularly large scale.
