Description

Corot spent many years living and working in Italy. Primarily a landscape painter, he made several sketches from nature but always painted finished works in the studio. Relying on his studies, memories, and imagination, Corot created this misty, golden sunrise scene. Cows stand quietly in reflective waters, while peasants dance happily in a field. In the distance, the ruins of an ancient temple evoke a serene, timeless mood.
