This alterpiece shows the crucified Christ with God the Father and the Holy Spirit and, in the lower part, the Virgin and St. John. In the foreground a mother and her daughter are lying dead, while the husband and young son are lamenting them. Although the original destination of this work is unknown, in all probability it was a votive painting made in memory of the deceased women. The painter Jacopo del Sellaio worked in a eclectic style, influenced by Ghirlandaio and Botticelli.
