Description

The path running left-side of Hojo will end up as a half-dirt path lined with cherry trees and Japanese cedar at the foot of the hill named Shojoken {sho-joe-ken}. As the torii gates in between show, the structure up here is not a sub-temple but a mixture of Shinto and Buddhism (Hanso means half-priest), and functions as a tutelary deity for the temple compounds.
