This is a contemporary copy of "The Adoration of the Kings" that Rubens painted for Antwerp Town Hall in 1609/1610. The original painting (now in the Prado, Madrid) was presented as a gift to the Spanish Ambassador in 1612. It was altered an enlarged by Rubens in 1629. This copy is therefore an important record of its original appearance.
