 | Description | |
This sweeping panorama shows the countryside around Rubens's country home Het Steen. A wagon leaves on its way to market, and a hunter and his dog stalk partridge. The town of Malines can be seen in the distance. Rubens took great pleasure in his estate and the title that went with it - "Lord of Steen".
