 | Description | |
This painting appears to have been the subject of litigation between De Witte and Adriana van Heusden in 1669-1671, in whose house the artist was living at the time. The dating of the picture is based on the style of dress and on the fact that the New Fishermarket in Amsterdam opened in early 1661.
