Monet began some 19 paintings of the Houses of Parliament at sunset during visits to London in 1900 and 1901. He continued to work on the canvases back at his studio at Giverny in France, and completed this one there, far from the English subject which had so interested him since his first London visit in 1870. | More pictures |  |
