 | Description | |
Alexandrine-Emilie (1780-1847) was a daughter of the architect Alexandre-Théodore Brongniart. The artist briefly took refuge in the architect's Paris house during the turbulent summer of 1789. Vigée Le Brun's portraits of children often show them engaged in an activity, in this case knitting.
