 | Description | |
Saint Augustine (right, about 354 - 430) sees a child trying to spoon the sea into a hole in the sand. He remarks on the improbability of success and the child replies that he will find solving the mystery of the Trinity no easier. Saint Catherine, with her wheel and martyr's palm, stands behind Augustine. The holy family with angelic musicians appears in the clouds above.
