Description   

The Virgin and Child are flanked by saints Joseph (asleep on the right) and John the Baptist (top left). The donor may be Pierfrancesco Borgherini, a wealthy merchant and a friend of both Michelangelo and Sebastiano. It is rare for the Virgin to be shown with an arm around the donor.
