Description   

This painting is unfinished: the Virgin was to have been painted kneeling on the right. A drawing for Mary Magdalene, kneeling on the left, shows the nails and crown of thorns in her hands. Christ's body has been resting on their laps. It is now about to be carried to the sepulcher in the distance to the right.
