Les visiteurs apprécieront ce havre de tranquillité et pourront y faire une pause, avant d'entreprendre la section consacrée à la sculpture européenne et aux arts décoratifs. Ils pourront s'asseoir à une table, recouverte d'une nappe de tissu, et consommer une boisson tout en admirant le célèbre groupe "Ugolin et ses fils", sculpté par Carpeaux. Un peu en retrait, ils apercevront le groupe des "Bourgeois de Calais", réalisé par Rodin. Les autres oeuvres exposées, plus anciennes, datent pour l'essentiel de la période comprise entre le règne de Louis XIV et la Révolution. Deux vases en pierre et une série de quatre statues provenant du parc du Château de Mussegros à Ecouis, à proximité de Rouen en Normandie, rappellent la thématique et le style des oeuvres en place dans les Jardins du Château de Versailles.
