Wat Changlom is ont of the significant ancient sites in the east of the town. The main monument of this ancient site is a Ceylonese round-shaped chedi. The chedi's base is encircled with stucco elephant figures which were built only its front half. In front, there is a wihara's base built of brick. In addition, the base of a boundary wall built of brick also remains.
According to the 106th stone inscription found within site, it indicates about the meriteous deed to be taken from providing the temple with necessary things of building constructions. It also mentions the name of ruler or persons in a high position : Phor Nom sai Dam, Phya Si-Thephahuraj, and Phra Maha Thanmaracha. This stone inscription was made in 1384 during the reign of King Mahathammaracha II. |
