Elles seront remplacées, lors des travaux de restauration réalisés sous le règne de Nectanebo Ier, par des sphinx classiques à tête de roi à proximité du temple de Louxor. Le dromos aboutissait à un mur d'enceinte aujourd'hui détruit, appelé mur de Nectanebo, percé d'une imposante porte de grès dont il ne subsiste que l'arasement.
