Description
The Gohoh-tendoh is located on the backside of Sanbutsu-doh hall. It burns a holy fire for invocation. This is an important hall in order to understand mountainous worship of Nikko. The principal images are three lucky gods such as Bishamon-ten, Daikoku-ten and Benzai-ten. These are put in Goma-doh hall today though. It has been told that those three lucky gods are transformed figure of principal images of Sanbutsu-doh hall. The principal images of Sanbutsu-doh hall are Senju Kannon (1000-armed Kannon), Amida Nyorai and Batou Kannon.
Sanbutsu-doh hall has a function as a prayer hall for the purpose of public benefit such as national peace. However, Gomaten-doh hall is a prayer hall for the purpose of personal benefit.
By the way, Goma-doh hall was built in June 1988 near the Gomaten-doh hall. After that, the Goma-doh hall became a new prayer hall.
