History
God of Ieyasu rides on the central sedan chair, which has crest of Tokugawa Family. The crest is called Mitsuba-aoi (Three hollyhocks in a circle). Right sedan chair is for the God of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, while the left sedan chair is for Yoritomo Minamotono. Fifty-five people carry a portable shrine, but it is 800kg weight. The portable shrine was 1120kg weight until 1636, but it became light because it was too heavy for modern people. The old portable shrines are exhibited in the Treasure House of Toshogu Shrine.
Picture of dancing angels is painted on the ceiling of the building. It is told that the angels of the Shinyosha are the most beautiful in Japan.
Description
Three portable shrines are put inside the building, which is located on the left side after passing through the Youmeimon Gate. Also, portable shrine is considered as the sacred sedan chair.
