Description
The rooms in the East and West, which are linked by doors, were where Empress Dowager Ci Xi dined, drank tea and rested when she lived in Chu Xiu Gong (Palace of Gathering Excellence).

In 1887 Empress Dowager Ci Xi presided over a ceremony here for selecting the empress and concubines for Emperor Guangxu. "Te he" means "experiencing and observing gentleness and harmony".
