Description
During the Ming Dynasty, it was used by crown princes or high-ranking concubines. In the Qing Dynasty empresses and imperial concubines lived here. During the Qing Dynastie, Empress Xiaoxian (Concubine Dong'e) and Empress Xiaoquancheng (Emperor Xianfeng's mother) of Emperor Daoguang once lived in this hall. The eastern chamber once served as a kitchen for empress. The words "Gheng Qian" mean "following the will of Heaven". Cheng Qian Gong and Yi Kun Gong (Palace of Blessings to Mother Earth), one of the six western palaces, are located symmetrically along both sides of Qian Qing Gong (Palace of Heavenly Purity) and Kub Ning Gong (Hall of Earthly Tranquility).
