This hall was constructed in 1731 during the Qing Dynasty on the site of old halls of the Ming Dynasty and was renovated in 1801.

Description   
In the Qing Dynasty, two days before the emperor offered a sacrifice to heaven at the Temple of Heaven or to the Earth at the Altar of the Earth, he would fast at this hall for one day and then go to the Hall of Abstinence at the Temple of Heaven or Altar of the Earth to fast and other day. During the fast, he not drink wine, or eat onions, chives or garlic, but he eat meat. The eastern chamber in the hall is displayed poems written by officials in praise of the solemn ceremonies held here.
