The "Lenné Dreeick" was named in honour of Peter Joseph Lenné, the designer of Tiergarten, the city's central park. Located directly at the north side of Potsdamer Platz, it lay as fallow wasteland until the fall of the Wall, for though it was not actually surrounded by the Wall the triangular area between Ebertstrasse, Bellevuestrasse and Lennéstrasse officially belonged to East Berlin. | |
