At first, it included Zheng Jue, Pu An, Sheng Guo, Zong Jing. Zhuan Jiao, and Shun Shan Halls and the White Pagoda. Zheng Jue Hall was the temple entrance at that time. In 1741, during the reign of the Qing Emperor Qianlong (1736-1795), the name was changed to Yong An Temple. In 1743, it was extended and several buildings. Fa Lun Hall. the Bell Tower. Drum Tower and gate of the Temple added. In 1751. Shan Yin Hall and Yin Sheng and Di Ai Pavilions were added. In 1774,a stone tablet was erected in each pavilion and the "General Record of the White Pagoda Mountain" and the "Record of the White Pagoda Mountain's Four Sides" written by Emperor Qianlong himself were engraved on them. Over the years. some buildings and images of the temple were destroyed. In 1993, the Park Administration renovated the entire temple restoring all the buildings and replacing the statues. thus returning it to its historic graceful beauty. |
