Sanur, on the southwest coast of the island, is a beach which stretches on three kilometres. More rich than Kuta, this place begun to be known when artists settled down there, for example the Belgian painter Mayeur. During a long time, the Balinese supposed the place frequented by the marine monster of Nusa Penida, the nearby island. The beach is protected by a coral reef. No waves thus no surfers.
